The same walk the workbench does, stopped at the edge. Pick any signal in the block and follow what makes it or what it changes; a wire that belongs to a neighbour is drawn as a port and never expanded, so walking far enough here means you have seen the block rather than the chip. The drawing is live: the chip in the header runs the chosen program, a signal that is high right now is lit, and a switch whose control line is high is drawn open.

Each of these assembles a short program, runs it on the same simulation the die view draws, and reads the block's own signals back out of the silicon at named offsets from one instruction's opcode fetch. The offsets are offsets: nothing here is a remembered half-cycle number.
